Recently, the 20MW Backpressure Steam Turbine Generator Set Energy-Saving Retrofit and Efficiency Improvement EPC Project undertaken by Anhui Yuteshuang Energy Conservation Technology Co., Ltd. (YTS) for Sanmenxia Aluminum Co., Ltd. successfully passed the performance acceptance. We would like to extend our warm congratulations on the successful completion of this milestone project.

The original backpressure steam turbine set had an installed capacity of 12MW. In response to the customer’s production expansion requirements, the unit was planned to be upgraded to 20MW. Meanwhile, due to the low internal efficiency and high steam consumption of the original unit, significant energy losses occurred during operation. Therefore, an energy-saving retrofit and efficiency improvement project was urgently required.

To achieve both capacity expansion and energy efficiency enhancement, YTS replaced the original unit with a newly installed high-efficiency 20MW steam turbine generator set. The project not only increased the installed capacity but also significantly improved the overall operating efficiency of the system.

The newly installed unit model is B20-8.83/1.08/535, which adopts a multi-stage pressure design and represents a high-efficiency steam turbine configuration. Both the steam turbine and generator have an installed capacity of 20MW, with the capability to achieve an additional 10% power generation margin.

During the project implementation, YTS also carried out reinforcement and renovation of the existing turbine island facilities and reused certain auxiliary equipment, effectively optimizing resource utilization. According to the recent acceptance test results, the unit’s steam consumption rate reached 7.481 kg/kWh, meeting the technical requirements and delivering significant energy-saving benefits.

Throughout the contract execution process, YTS strictly fulfilled all project commitments, including equipment manufacturing and supply, foundation modification and reinforcement, as well as installation and commissioning of the new unit. The project performance and service quality received high recognition from the customer.The successful acceptance of this project not only adds another benchmark EPC project to YTS’s portfolio but also establishes a solid foundation for further market expansion in Henan Province.
