NEA Hosts 2026 Energy Sector Assistance Exchange

2026-6-5

On May 28, the Office of the Leading Group for Rural Revitalization of the National Energy Administration (NEA) hosted an exchange event for the 2026 Energy Sector Consumption Assistance Cooperation Initiative. Liu Deshun, Chief Engineer of the NEA, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. Representatives of participating entities shared experience and exemplary cases of poverty alleviation through consumption, and conducted field research and exchanges in Pinggu District, Beijing on models leveraging agriculture, cultural tourism to boost consumption-driven assistance and rural revitalization.

The meeting noted that since its launch in 2020, the energy sector’s consumption assistance initiative has, with robust support from all participating institutions, helped counties under paired assistance build local brands, upgrade management standards and product quality of agricultural goods. Agricultural products worth a total of 270 million yuan have been sold for targeted aided counties, delivering remarkable outcomes.

It was stressed at the meeting that to advance consumption assistance across the energy sector, stakeholders must uphold a sound view on performance evaluation, fully implement the CPC Central Committee’s new arrangements and requirements for regularized assistance, carry forward the fine traditions of the energy industry, further refine the cooperation mechanism for consumption assistance, leverage relevant cooperation platforms, explore innovative assistance approaches, and steadily advance paired assistance initiatives.

Personnel in charge of targeted poverty alleviation from major central energy enterprises took part in the activity, including CNNC, PetroChina, Sinopec, CNOOC, PipeChina, State Grid, China Southern Power Grid, Huaneng Group, Datang Group, Huadian Corporation, SPIC, China Three Gorges Corporation, CHN Energy, PowerChina and China Energy Engineering Corporation, as well as CGN.
